Billing & Subscriptions
1nbox uses Stripe to handle subscriptions and payments. Your card details are never stored by 1nbox — Stripe processes everything securely. This guide explains how to access your subscription, manage payments, view invoices, and what happens when you cancel.
Accessing your subscription via Stripe
Go to Settings → Billing and click View Stripe Profile. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab. The portal is hosted and secured by Stripe — you manage your subscription and payment methods directly there.
In the Stripe portal you can:
- Update your payment method (card details)
- View your subscription and billing cycle
- Download past invoices
- Update billing address
- Cancel your subscription
Managing payments
All payment management happens in the Stripe portal. To change your card, add a new card, or remove an old one, open the portal from Settings → Billing. Stripe supports major credit and debit cards. Your card is charged automatically at the start of each billing period (monthly or yearly, depending on your plan).
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry. You'll receive an email from Stripe about the failure. Update your payment method in the portal to avoid service interruption.
Viewing invoices
Invoices are available in two places:
- Settings → Billing: The Invoices table shows your recent invoices with ID, amount, date, and status. This is a summary view. Use it to see what you've been charged and when.
- Stripe portal: For full invoice details and PDF downloads, open the Stripe portal. You can view and download any past invoice.
Invoice statuses include Paid, Pending, and Failed. Paid invoices can be downloaded for your records.
Cancel anytime
You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. Cancel from the Stripe portal (Settings → Billing → View Stripe Profile) or, when available, from the Subscription tab in Settings.
Keep access until end of billing cycle
When you cancel, your Premium features remain active until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel on the 15th and your next billing date is the 1st, you keep Premium until the 1st. After that, your plan reverts to Free and features like online booking are disabled.
1nbox does not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods. You keep full access until the period ends.
Reactivating a cancelled subscription
If you cancelled and want to come back, you can resubscribe from the Subscription tab in Settings. Your previous data (appointments, customers, staff) is still there. Resubscribing restores Premium features immediately.
Stripe security and certifications
Stripe is a trusted payment processor used by millions of businesses. Your payment data is handled by Stripe, not 1nbox. We never see or store your full card number.
PCI DSS compliance
Stripe is certified as a PCI Service Provider Level 1 — the highest level of certification in the payments industry. This means Stripe's systems, processes, and infrastructure are audited annually to ensure card data is stored, processed, and transmitted securely. PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is the global standard for card security.
SOC 2 compliance
Stripe maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance. SOC 2 reports verify that Stripe's controls for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy meet rigorous standards. These audits are performed by independent auditors. SOC 2 Type II confirms that controls are not only designed correctly but operate effectively over time.
Encryption and data protection
Stripe encrypts all card data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Card numbers are tokenised — Stripe replaces sensitive data with tokens so that your actual card details are never exposed to 1nbox or stored in our systems.

Billing cycle
Choose between monthly and yearly billing in the Subscription tab. Yearly billing is paid upfront and typically offers a discount. Your billing date is set when you first subscribe and repeats each period (e.g. 1st of each month, or annually on the same date).
Add-ons
Premium accounts can purchase add-ons such as additional staff slots. Add-ons are billed with your subscription. Adjust quantities from the Subscription tab. Add-on charges appear on the same invoice as your base subscription.
